The Stade Omnisports de l'Ill is a multi-purpose stadium with an athletics facility in Mulhouse . The French city of Mulhouse ( German : Mulhouse ) is located in the Haut-Rhin department in Alsace . It is the home of FC Mulhouse . The club played from 1906 to the First World War in the cycling stadium ( Stade Vélodrome ) of Mulhouse. After the war until 1979 he received his opponents in the Stade de Bourtzwiller . The name of the sports facility goes back to the river Ill .
Inaugurated on August 11, 1979, it currently has 11,303 seats. They are distributed over two covered grandstands along the square and standing room in the curves. The attendance record comes from 1989, when Mulhouse FC played against Olympique Marseille (1: 2). 17,342 spectators came to the first division game.
