The Stadewäldchen is a green area in Dortmund . With a size of five hectares, the Stadewäldchen extends from the S-Bahn stop Dortmund-Stadthaus to Bundesstrasse 1 .

The history of the Stadewäldchen goes back to the brewery owner Stade, who leased land here in the 1920s to build a park. The Stadewäldchen, as it was already called back then, served as a walking connection from the Dortmund city center to what was then Kaiser-Wilhelm-Hain, today's Westfalenpark . There was also a beer garden in the north of the park.

In 1939 the city of Dortmund leased the area between Saarlandstrasse and Markgrafenstrasse and set up a public green area here. The city of Dortmund acquired this area in the early 1950s.

For the first Federal Horticultural Show in Dortmund in 1959, the park was expanded and additional offers for leisure and relaxation were added. A children's playground and a small soccer field were built.

In the green area, a memorial of the Association of Returnees commemorates the expulsion at the end of the Second World War .

In the north of the green area there is a restaurant called Stadewäldchen, which with an attached beer garden invites you to linger.
