The Stadio San Filippo is a football stadium in the Italian city ​​of Messina in Sicily .

It is the home of the Serie D club ACR Messina . It holds 40,200 spectators.

history

The stadium was inaugurated on August 17, 2004 under the name Stadio San Filippo with the match between Messina FC and Juventus Turin . The foundation stone for the new stadium had been laid 14 years earlier. As luck would have it, FC Messina was promoted back to Serie A after 39 years in the preseason , so the club was able to play its first season in the new stadium in Serie A.
