The Brühl stadium is the stadium of the Grenchen sports club FC Grenchen in Switzerland .
It is located on Brühlstrasse on the southern edge of the city of Grenchen in the Swiss canton of Solothurn . The capacity is 15,100 spectators. The stadium has a grandstand with 1,300 covered seats and is, among other things, the venue for the international football tournament Uhrencup .
history
The inauguration of the stadium took place on September 4, 1927, when FC Grenchen was in the top division. It had a wooden grandstand that lasted until the 1950s. In 1974 the club had to sell the stadium for financial reasons. The community assembly decided to buy the entire system for 2.7 million francs, which was also approved in a vote. In 1980 the stadium restaurant was also renovated.
