The Stadium of Friendship in Templin is a municipal sports facility for football , athletics and volleyball .
history
Construction began on February 22, 1922. Just a year and a half later, on June 10, 1923, the new stadium was opened. Utilizing clubs were initially the men's gymnastics club from 1862 and the SC Victoria 1914 Templin . District sports festivals were held annually on the facility. In the GDR , the Templin BSG unit was the main user of the facility. Between 1972 and 1974 the sports field was completely renovated. On October 6, 1979, the first GDR best determination in women's football , the unofficial GDR championship, took place in the Stadium of Friendship . The winner of this first championship was BSG Motor Mitte Karl-Marx-Stadt . Since its re-establishment in 1990, SC Victoria 1914 Templin has been using the facilities again.
The stadium
The stadium of friendship sports complex has a central football and athletics stadium with a 400 meter running track, several long jump pits, two shot put facilities and six 100 meter lanes as well as grandstands for 3000 spectators. In addition, there is another grass and hard court, several volleyball and streetball fields . The social building has handicapped accessible toilets, changing rooms, a kitchen and a meeting room. The Brandenburg Disabled Sports Association has its office in the Stadium of Friendship.
