The Gal stadium is the club's own football stadium of the northern Spanish football club Real Unión Irún . Irun is in the province of Gipuzkoa in the Autonomous Community of the Basque Country on the border with France .
history
The stadium was built in 1926 during the club's most successful phase; as a four-time Spanish cup winner (1913, 1918, 1924 and 1927) and 1928 founding member of the first Spanish league . The venue was inaugurated with the game Real Unión Irún against FC Barcelona ; before that one played in Campo Bidasotarra . It is right on the banks of the Bidasoa River; only around 300 meters from the border with France. In 1997 it was completely renovated. Today it offers 5,000 places; 3,000 of these seats are distributed across the two longitudinal stands (main stand 1,700 seats; east stand 1,300 seats). There is also a stand at the back with standing room. The entire stadium is kept in white (including seats and roofing). The main stand has a bright one; translucent construction covered. There is an artificial turf pitch behind the standing grandstand in the south .
