The city ​​fortification of Blankenburg is the listed historical city ​​fortification of the city of Blankenburg (Harz) in Saxony-Anhalt .

The first documentary mention of the city fortifications is from 1305. The fortification had four gates, of which only parts of the watering gate have been preserved, but which was moved to the entrance to the domain. In addition, the water gate, which was created as a passage for the mill moat , has been preserved. In addition, there are still some towers, including the princess tower , and wall areas. The walls are 75 to 115 centimeters thick. In the inner city of Blankenburg there are some remains of towers that have been integrated into residential buildings. so especially in the Krumme Strasse . It is known as early as the 17th century that the council awarded Blankenburg towers to private individuals for residential purposes or for building maintenance. In the 1990s, the western part of the wall along Krummen Strasse , Schlossgasse to Blankenburg Castle (Harz) and from there to the east to the Little Castle was renovated.

In the local register of monuments , the city fortification is listed as a monument under registration number 094 25129 .
