history
The park was inaugurated in 1901, and the park's attractions included swan ponds for boating and a children's playground. The city garden has been continuously expanded since then. In 1919/20 a sports and gymnastics field was added, in 1925 a large gondola pond and a botanical garden with greenhouses. A bird enclosure was opened in the 1950s, and an outdoor aviary was added in 1978. In the 1950s and 1960s, two large ships were anchored on the gondola pond, on which a café and a dance company were located.
There are various special individual trees in the complex, such as B. the mammoth, the trumpet or the tulip tree.
In 1937 the National Socialists built and inaugurated an open-air theater as a Thingstätte . Today the open-air stage, together with the adjoining beer garden, is a venue for concerts, theater performances and musicals for children and adults.
