City Hall (Koenigsberg)
The town hall had the largest event halls in Königsberg . The Lord Mayor Siegfried Körte initiated the Stadthalle AG as the sponsoring company. The building was constructed in 1911 based on a design by the Berlin architect Richard Seel and inaugurated in 1912. The building had a steel structure and had 1,600 seats, it was used for concerts and events of all kinds. Felix Japha was one of the generous donors .
The halls were named after the initiators: Siegfried Körte, Theodor Krohne and Carl Julius Gebauhr . There was also a restaurant and a café in the garden in front of the castle pond . The hall was badly damaged in the air raids on Königsberg on August 26, 1944. The building now serves as the Kaliningrad Regional Museum of History and Art ( Russian Калининградский областной историко-художественный музей ).
