City Indians

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The city Indians ( Italian indiani metropolitani ) were part of the left-wing radical movement in Italy , especially the student movement of 1977 , which also had an impact on the German spontaneous scene.

The Indiani Metropolitani

The founding document of the City Indians of Rome was their manifesto, published on March 1, 1977 in the Lotta Continua newspaper :

“We danced for a long time around the totem of our light madness (...) The time of the sun and a thousand colors has dawned. It is the time for the people of men to descend into the green valleys to take back the world that belongs to them. The pale-faced troops with their blue jackets have destroyed everything that once was life, they stifled the breath of nature with steel and concrete. They created a desert of death and called it 'progress'. (...) "(Indians and P38, p. 85)
