The city ​​wall in Gliwice (Gleiwitz) is part of the city's medieval fortress .

The city ​​wall that surrounded the oval-shaped old town was built in the second half of the 14th century after the Hussite Wars and had two gates , the Ratibor Gate (also Black Gate) and the Beuthen Gate (White Gate) and 29 defensive towers ( bastions ), as well as a height of nine meters, a width of 1.2 meters and an original length of 1125 meters. The wall was surrounded by a moat and earth walls.

Remnants of the wall can be found today on Rzezniczy Square, on Grodowa Street 1a and 5 and on Basztowa Street 3. In addition, part of the wall and a defense tower were included in the construction of the castle . There are also remains of the Black Gate, which was supplemented by a 200-meter-long reconstruction of the moat.
