The city wall Gustav-Adolf-Straße is a listed piece of the city wall in Magdeburg in Saxony-Anhalt .

location

The section of the city wall runs parallel to the Tränsberg street in Magdeburg's old town to the north and is located at Gustav-Adolf-Straße 2 on Gustav-Adolf-Straße, which runs a little further to the west. To the north is the Mark Fortress .

layout

The rest of the medieval city wall has been preserved here at around 60 meters. The quarry stone masonry goes back to the 13th century and represents part of the northern section of the wall. In the course of the city wall to the east, another section has been preserved and integrated into the back wall of the historic officers' mess Tränsberg 21/23. The city fortifications were built with double walls. The second wall to the north is part of the steep wall to the courtyard of the fortress Mark. The city wall has been partially reconstructed.

The small section of the wall is a testimony to the city fortifications and marks the historical expansion of the city as it existed until the northern front of Magdeburg Fortress was abolished at the end of the 19th century.

In the local register of monuments , the city wall is listed as a monument under registration number 094 76837.
