The Stadtwerke Böhmetal GmbH is in 1998 from the merger of Stadtwerke Fallingbostel GmbH and Stadtwerke GmbH Walsrode emerged that can already refer to a decades-long tradition in energy and water supply. The sole shareholder of Stadtwerke Böhmetal GmbH is Kommunale Dienstleistungen Böhmetal GmbH with its partners City of Bad Fallingbostel and City of Walsrode each with 50%. The regional focus of activity is the two cities of Bad Fallingbostel and Walsrode . As part of the Heidekreis Water Association (WVH) , the area of the former municipality of Bomlitz , parts of the municipal-free district of Osterheide and the municipalities of Ahlden , Rethem and Schwarmstedt are supplied with drinking water. The supply area thus includes all localities in the old district of Fallingbostel (excluding Walsrode Stadt and Bad Fallingbostel with Dorfmark and excluding the municipality-free district of Osterheide).

In addition to supplying electricity, gas and water, Stadtwerke Böhmetal GmbH is responsible for the operational management of the municipal hall operation in Walsrode , which is part of the municipal service Böhmetal GmbH , and the Bädergesellschaft Böhmetal mbH as a sister company with the four swimming pools and the combined heat and power plant in the area of the indoor swimming pool in Walsrode.
For the company's purpose, Stadtwerke Böhmetal, on the basis of a comprehensive agency agreement signed on February 23, 1989, performs all technical and commercial management tasks for the Fallingbostel District Water Supply Association (WVF) . In this context, the managing director of Stadtwerke Böhmetal GmbH is also appointed managing director of the association.
The areas of sewage, urban drainage, urban forests, road and property maintenance for the area of the city of Walsrode have been taken over since January 1, 2018 by the establishment of the Kommunal Service Böhmetal gkAöR (non-profit municipal institution under public law). In this context, the managing director of Stadtwerke Böhmetal GmbH has also been appointed to the board of gkAöR.
