The Stadtwerke Gütersloh GmbH is the public utilities of the East Westphalian town of Gutersloh in North Rhine-Westphalia . They supply the city with gas , electricity and water . They are also responsible for the swimming pools and public transport and take care of broadband expansion in Gütersloh.

history

The spherical gas tank was built in the Nordhorn district in 1965 and is a Gütersloh monument .

Stadtwerke Gütersloh has been supplying gas in the city of Gütersloh since 1862. In 1887 the water supply was also introduced. They have been responsible for the power supply since 1912. In 1937 the city bus service in Gütersloh was introduced by the municipal utilities. In 1960 the business area was expanded to include pool operations.

Stadtwerke Gütersloh has been working in the telecommunications industry in cooperation with Stadtwerke Bielefeld since 1999.

On January 1, 2011, the network company Gütersloh was founded as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Stadtwerke Gütersloh. It takes over the tasks of the network operator.

In 2012, Stadtwerke Gütersloh celebrated its 150th anniversary.

In 2016 the customer center was redesigned and renovated. This is centrally located in downtown Gütersloh (Berliner Straße 19).

In 2018 the completely renewed "Welle" opened. The investment volume was just under € 10 million.
