history
Stadtwerke Raunheim emerged from its own water supply and disposal operation. Today you are an in-house company with a very wide range of tasks and products. Stadtwerke Raunheim supplies the 14,900 residents, 16 large commercial and industrial companies, other companies and facilities in Raunheim with drinking water. The municipal utilities obtain their drinking water from Hessenwasser (Groß-Gerau) and the Mainz municipal utilities. In addition to the daily water supply, the Raunheim municipal utility maintains the 47-kilometer supply network. The supply area covers 12.6 square kilometers. Stadtwerke Raunheim is responsible for collecting and discharging the wastewater, mixed water and rainwater in the city of Raunheim. The wastewater and mixed water are treated in the sewage treatment plant operated by the Rüsselsheim / Raunheim wastewater association. In addition to the operation, maintenance and upkeep of the sewer network including the special structures (pumping stations, retention basins, rainwater treatment systems, rain overflows), the municipal utilities are also responsible for the rehabilitation and renewal of the sewers and the special structures. The sewer network is around 60 kilometers long. The special structures include fourteen pumping stations, five rain overflow basins, two retention basins or storage channels and four rainwater treatment systems.

Waste disposal includes the collection of residual waste from households and businesses, biowaste, green waste, bulky waste, paper and the transport of the collected waste to the waste disposal and recycling facilities. The municipal utilities also operate a recycling center where the residents of Raunheim can also dispose of scrap metal, building rubble and bulky items from private households.
City cleaning

Swimming pools and sports and leisure facilities

Between October and April it is also open for general bathing on weekends. The Raunheimer Waldsee is a spacious natural lido with separate non-swimmer and swimmer areas as well as a surfing area. The lake is about 8 hectares. The gently sloping sunbathing area (2.1 hectares) with a sandy beach offers easy access to the water. A nudist area is separated from normal swimming. The natural lido is equipped with a kiosk, barbecue area, ball playground, beach volleyball field and children's play equipment. There is a changing building with sanitary facilities next to the guard station. The gym is mainly used by schools and clubs. However, exhibitions are also held there. The Raunheim sports park includes two grass and two hard courts, a 400 meter synthetic track, high jump, pole vault, hammer throw, shot put and long jump facility. Three sports fields are equipped with floodlights.
Green maintenance
The maintenance and care of the public green areas covers 27 hectares.
Cemetery and funeral services
Since January 1, 2002, the municipal utilities have been responsible for all tasks associated with cemetery and funeral services. In addition to the cemetery administration, this also includes the maintenance and operation of the Raunheim cemetery including the horticultural maintenance of the cemetery facilities.
Building yard
The tasks of the building yard include the provision of services for the city of Raunheim. This includes maintenance of traffic areas (signs and markings, small-scale road maintenance), flood and disaster protection, provision of craftsmen and workshop services, transport and removals as well as maintenance of motor vehicles, machinery and equipment.
