Stadtwirtschaft Halle

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The city GmbH Halle (SGH) was created after the political change in the GDR in 1990 by converting and splitting from the former state-owned company (VEB) Stadtwirtschaft hall. On September 21, 2009, the Hallesche Wasser und Abwasser GmbH and the Stadtwirtschaft GmbH Halle were merged to form a new company, the Hallesche Wasser und Stadtwirtschaft GmbH.

General / history

In 1991, as the municipal waste disposal company of the city of Halle (Saale), it was commissioned to carry out all disposal and street cleaning tasks for the city. SGH has been a wholly owned subsidiary of Stadtwerke Halle since 1993 . The company began its business activities in the fields of disposal of household and commercial waste, treatment of valuable and harmful substances, street cleaning and winter services under the auspices of the adoption of the federal German waste management laws . An interlude was the takeover of the city's street lighting systems between 1994 and 1997.

The transformation from mere waste disposal to a comprehensive waste management system based on the Recycling and Waste Act began in 1995. It was characterized by the differentiation in the container system. The residual waste bin exhibited close to the household was supplemented by the so-called “brown bin” for organic waste (from 1995), the “yellow bin” for light packaging (from 1996) and the “blue bin” for cardboard, paper and cardboard waste. In addition, there were decentralized storage bins for waste from light packaging, waste glass and cardboard / paper as well as three central collection points for waste of all kinds. H. the emptying of all recyclable materials or waste bins in a district on a weekday was introduced. As one of the first companies in the industry, the SGH created and tested an internet shop for waste disposal services in 2000.

In 2002, SGH opened up a further business area, building cleaning for various properties in the city of Halle (Saale).

A new transformation process started in 2005. In addition to the legal ban on depositing non-pretreated waste, this was due in particular to the global rise in raw material prices, particularly for metals, crude oil and food. The extraction and use of secondary raw materials from waste for material and thermal recycling in the plastics ( PE , PET , PVC etc.), paper / cardboard, metals and fuels segments came to the fore.

In 2007, the SGH was one of the first companies in the industry to introduce a system for performance-related pay based on the collective agreement for the public service ( TVöD ).

In 2009 Stadtwirtschaft GmbH Halle was merged with Hallesche Wasser- und Abwasser GmbH, which also belongs to the city of Halle (Saale), to form Hallesche Wasser und Stadtwirtschaft GmbH .

In addition to the services of the previous SGH, the new company created in this way also provides the water supply and waste water disposal primarily in Halle and the surrounding area.

Company data

In the last full financial year 2008, the city economy generated sales of around € 27 million. Approx. 380 people were employed in the SGH. The SGH was mainly characterized by waste disposal services and has around 90 vehicles and mobile devices.
