The "Stadtwirtschaft Weimar GmbH" with the areas of traffic, waste disposal and sports facilities was founded in 2002. It emerged from the individual companies "Verkehrsbetrieb Weimar GmbH" and "Weimar Stadtentsorgung GmbH".

disposal

The Waste Management division manages the municipal waste disposal in Weimar with the services of household and bulky waste collection, waste recycling, container service, takes on street cleaning and winter service tasks and operates the Umpferstedt waste disposal facility.

The recycling center at Industriestrasse 14 in Weimar is open Monday to Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Umpferstedt composting plant is open Monday to Friday from 12.30 p.m. to 3.30 p.m.

Sports facilities

The Stadtwirtschaft Weimar operates two sports facilities: the Schwanseebad as a combination pool with outdoor pool, indoor swimming pool and sauna and the Asbach sports hall as a three-field hall.

Schwanseebad

The Schwanseebad is centrally located on the Fuldaer Strasse ring road opposite the “Wimaria” stadium and is integrated into a complex that is protected as a garden monument. The outdoor swimming pool part of the Weimar Schwanseebad is an almost 80 year old facility with spacious sunbathing areas, old trees and a total water area of ​​over 7,000 m². It has a swimmer pool 50 m × 54 m, a non-swimmer pool 35 m × 54 m and a teaching pool 12.5 m × 25 m. The steel riveted diving tower has 10 m and 5 m platforms and two 3 m diving boards.

The swimming pool complex includes a sauna area, a 25-meter sports pool, a non-swimmer pool and a children's paddling pool.

Asbach sports hall

The Asbachsporthalle is a three-field sports hall with a clear height of 7 m. The hall is designed for ball games and competitions. It is equipped with a control room, six separate changing rooms, showers and toilets. The grandstand offers space for 200 visitors. The sports hall is heated by a combined underfloor ventilation heating, supported by 50 m² of solar technology on the hall roof.
