Stagonomus (Dalleria) bipunctatus is a Wanzenart from the family of stink bugs (Pentatomidae).
features
The 4.5 to 6.2 millimeter long bugs are colored maroon. The surface has numerous tiny dark depressions. At the corners at the base of the label (scutellum) there is a larger, light spot, and a dark spot at the lower end of the label. The fourth and fifth antennae are reddish in color (in contrast to the similar species Stagonomus amoenus ).

The species is common in large parts of Europe.
Way of life
Among the fodder plants of Stagonomus bipunctatus mainly include plants of the family Lamiaceae (Lamiaceae). These include the real speedwell ( Veronica officinalis ), the common adder head , various Günsel species ( Ajuga ), the variegated sage ( Salvia viridis ), the oriental skullcap ( Scutellaria orientalis ), the mountain germander ( Teucrium montanum ) and mullein ( Verbascum ).
etymology
The additional species bipunctatus is derived from Latin and means "two spots".
