Stainless Steel is one of the first " Böhse Onkelz " tribute bands in Germany: As the official support band at the Vaya con Tioz farewell concert of the Onkelz at the Lausitzring from 15.-18. In June 2005 Stainless Steel also played in the supporting program of the event. Up until 2009 Stainless Steel had numerous concerts with the now successful South Tyrolean German rock band Frei.Wild . The specialist magazine Metal Hammer, which is renowned in heavy metal circles, has already reported on the band several times, and the band is represented with a band photo in the booklet of the last live release of the Böhsen Onkelz before their reunion, Vaya con Tioz , which ranks 1 in entered the longplay charts.

history

The band's homepage says the following about the band's history:

According to the band, the reason for the foundation was "involuntarily a terrible school-leaving band in 2000: Tormented by the bungling music of this graduation band, guitarist and stainless steel founder Sebastian spontaneously decided to set up his own band." Band is the faithful interpretation of the songs, characteristic of the "detailed and faithful solo guitar". "Together with brother Michael (drums) and two school acquaintances who would later fall victim to line-up changes, the bunch was complete relatively quickly." In the search for a suitable band name, various ideas arose, "until suddenly a knife was on the table - they all agreed: the English engraving on its edge was emblematic of the music." The band points out that they are performing at the farewell concert of the Böhsen Onkelz Ralf Werner, the then head of the official Onkelz fan club BOSC. Furthermore, according to the band, both the singer and the guitarist of "Böhsen Onkelz" have already played Onkelz songs together with musicians from "Stainless Steel". In the early years the band gave numerous joint concerts with the South Tyrolean band "Frei.Wild", whose singer sometimes played songs with "Stainless Steel" on these occasions. Torben Höffgen from the band “Kärholz” also helped out on the microphone a few years ago at a show by “Stainless Steel” when there was an emergency. After numerous line-up changes, the former bassist of the Böhse Onkelz tribute band "Glorreich Halunken", which was disbanded in 2016, reorganized Joachim Wawra "Stainless Steel" at the beginning of 2017. From the "Stainless Steel" line-up, only band founder Sebastian is still there, while drummer Oli and singer Kevin have joined the band. From time to time Marco, the former singer of the "Glorrich Scoundrels", sings as part of "Allstars" specials at "Stainless Steel". Some former members of "Stainless Steel" are currently active in other Onkelzcover projects. The side project called "Killerton", which was launched around 2010 and which produced a debut album, but caused disagreement among the band in the past, is currently on hold.

Side project: Killerton

At the beginning of 2010 Stainless Steel guitarist Sebastian and ex-singer Karsten founded the side project Killerton , because "Stainless Steel" should remain a pure "Böhse Onkelz" tribute band. Initially intended as a songwriting project according to the band, the desire for live performances quickly grew. Since the end of 2012, Killerton and Stainless Steel had different singers, while the bassist, drummer and guitarist played in both bands. The debut album, our world , was released with interruptions over a period of one and a half years in 2012. The side project caused disagreement with the band in the past and is currently on hold.
