Stamford Brook is an above-ground London Underground station in the London Borough of Hounslow . It is in the Travelcard tariff zone 2 on Goldhawk Road. District Line trains run here . In 2014, 2.67 million passengers used the station.

The London and South Western Railway (L & SWR) started operating a railway line on January 1, 1869, which branched off from the West London Line at Addison Road (now Kensington (Olympia) ) and led to Richmond . The trains passed here without stopping. In the following years, trains from three other companies also ran here: the Metropolitan District Railway (MDR; predecessor of the District Line) since April 1, 1873, the Great Western Railway from 1894 to 1910 and the Metropolitan Railway (today's Metropolitan Line ) from 1877 until 1906.

On February 1, 1912, the Stamford Brook station was opened. At that time only the MDR and the L & SWR were using the route. The latter also withdrew on June 3, 1916, as its steam trains were unable to cope with the competition from the subway, which had been electrified since 1905. When the Piccadilly Line was extended westward from Hammersmith on July 4, 1932, the tracks came to lie between those of the District Line. Since then, the trains on the Piccadilly Line have passed Stamford Brook without stopping. On January 5, 1964, Stamford Brook was the first London Underground station to receive an automatic turnstile access.
