Standardization Administration of the People's Republic of China
The Standardization Administration of the People's Republic of China ( SAC ) is a Chinese standards organization founded in April 2001.
The organization, based in Haidian (Beijing), represents China's interests in the International Standardization Organization (ISO), the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) and in other international and regional standardization organizations.
German-Chinese cooperation
German-Chinese cooperation in the field of standardization began in 1979 with an initial agreement. The German Institute for Standardization e. V. made DIN standards available to the Chinese standardization organization on the basis of this agreement . The German-Chinese standards information portal is a result of the cooperation between DIN and SAC, which is intended to offer interested parties from both countries an overview of the technical regulations.
Since 2006 a German-Chinese working group - represented by SAC and DIN - has been working on the harmonization of standards and statutes in order to reduce trade barriers. She works on the following subjects, among others: food safety , energy supply , environmental protection and medical technology .
On March 19, 2012, the DIN German Institute for Standardization e. V. and the Chinese standards organization SAC announced their successful cooperation by confirming the continuation of the cooperation agreement. In May 2012, both standardization organizations met at the meeting of the Standardization Commission of the Sino-German Joint Economic Committee (GWA). The GWA is the most important coordination body of the German Ministry of Economic Affairs and the Chinese Ministry of Commerce.
