Stanford Stream Data Manager

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Stanford Stream Data Manager (STREAM) is a data stream management system that is being developed at Stanford University . The program is part of a research project of the same name that ended in January 2006. The program version from the end of 2004 is still referred to as a prototype and is available in source code. As part of the STREAM project, the Continuous Query Language (CQL) was also developed as a general query language for data streams .

As a general data flow management system, STREAM is not tailored to a specific application. It can be used, for example, to monitor data traffic in computer networks . Comparable alternative systems or projects are Aurora from Brandeis University , Brown University and MIT , TelegraphCQ from Berkeley and PIPES from Philipps University in Marburg .
