Stanimir Lyubenow Trojanski (born October 12, 1944 in Varna , Bulgarian Станимир Любенов Троянски, in other transliterations also Troyansky or Troyanski ) is a Bulgarian mathematician.

Stanimir L. Trojanski grew up in Varna as the son of an obstetrician and a pulmonologist who died young. After graduating from school in 1962, he began studying mathematics at Kharkov University . There he received his doctorate in 1970 with a dissertation on the topological equivalence of some non-separable Banach spaces under Mikhail Iossifowitsch Kadec . From 1985 to 1999 he headed analysis at the University of Sofia . Trojanski was visiting professor at several universities, Iowa , Bordeaux , Granada , Valencia and at the Complutense University of Madrid . In recent years he has been a professor at the University of Murcia .

Trojanski has been a corresponding member since 1989 and a member of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences since 2003 and he is a corresponding member of the Royal Academy of Exact, Physical and Natural Sciences in Madrid .

Trojanski's main area of work is functional analysis , in particular the geometry of Banach spaces . There it is particularly known from Trojanski's theorem, according to which a space that is generated weakly compact can be renormalized to a locally uniformly convex space .
