Stanislav Novák

Stanislav Novák (born November 13, 1890 in Rychnov nad Kněžnou , † June 20, 1945 in Prague ) was a Czech violinist.

Novák had been friends with the composer Bohuslav Martinů since he was a student at the Prague Conservatory and worked intensively for the dissemination of his work in Czechoslovakia. He was a member of the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra from 1916 and concertmaster from 1917 to 1936 . From 1936 to 1945 he was also a member of the České trio (Czech trio) ensemble . During the German occupation he was forced to separate from his Jewish wife and children, who were murdered in Auschwitz.
