Rachel Trevor-Morgan (* before 1975 in Stourbridge , West Midlands ) is a British haute couture - milliner . She regularly outfits members of the British royal family and numerous public figures with her hat creations. In 2014, Queen Elizabeth II personally awarded her the “Royal Warrant”, which officially makes Trevor Morgan the purveyor to the court, which is why she is referred to in the media as “Her Majesty's Hatter”.

Rachel Trevor-Morgan was born in Stourbridge to Vicar Basil Henry Trevor-Morgan. She attended the Alice Ottley School in Worcester from 1975 to 1982 . Originally she wanted to train as an actress or costume designer after school. At the age of 18 she went to London to begin an apprenticeship as a hat maker. She went to the well-known milliner Graham Smith , who designed hats for Princess Diana and Elizabeth Taylor , among other things , in a three-year apprenticeship. From 1988 to 1990 she worked in the studio of the royal hat designer Philip Somerville .

In 1990 she opened her own studio in an attic in Westminster Convent. Initially, she sold her designs at the St. Martin in the Fields market , and a short time later she also supplied large department stores such as Fortnum & Mason , Harrods and Selfridges . Due to her success, she moved her studio in 1992 to the renowned district in the neighborhood of the St. James Palace . At the end of the 1990s she was one of the most influential milliners in Great Britain. Since 1997 she has also designed an annual bridal headdress collection. In 1999 she won the British Hairdress Designer Award for one of her bridal collections.

Rachel Trevor-Morgan has been one of the preferred hat designers of the British royal family since 2006, alongside Angela Kelly and Philip Treacy . Her first design in this function was a matt gold-gray hat with roses, which the Queen wore to the service in St. Paul's Cathedral on the occasion of her 80th birthday . She also designed noted models for the Golden Jubilee Tour and a bright green hat that the Queen wore to the Trooping the Color parade on the occasion of her 90th birthday.

Stewart Parvin , and makes hats for the outfits of members of European royal families, including Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge , Sophie, Countess of Wessex , Alexandra von Kent , Zara Phillips and Autumn Phillips . She also designs hats for the Royal Ascot horse races and family celebrations.

Trevor-Morgan has sales offices in Great Britain and Ireland and exports their hats to Asia, North America and the Arab world. She sells around 120 hat creations a year, ten of them for Queen Elisabeth on average. For her hat designs she uses, among other things, self-dyed straw and high-quality artificial flowers from the Saxon manufacturer Heide Steyer . The custom-made products are priced up to £ 2000 .

Rachel Trevor-Morgan is married to a Westminster School teacher. The couple have two sons and a daughter.

In 2014 Rachel Trevor-Morgan was commissioned to make miniature hats for the figures of the royal family at Legoland in Windsor .
