Stanislaw Stanislawowitsch Bunin ( Russian Станислав Станиславович Бунин ; born November 25, 1966 in Moscow ) is a Russian pianist .

Life

Bunin's father was the pianist Stanislaw Neuhaus , his grandfather the great piano teacher Heinrich Neuhaus . He is also related to Karol Szymanowski . From the age of 6, Bunin studied 11 years at the Moscow Central Music School with Elena Richter, later at the Moscow Conservatory with Sergei Dorensky. In 1983 he won the Marguerite Long - Jacques Thibaud Concours in Paris and in 1985 the Chopin Competition in Warsaw. In 1988 he emigrated from the Soviet Union to Germany and lived in Hamburg-Eilbek . He later moved to Japan. From 1991-1998 he was a professor at the largest music school in Japan, Senzoku Ga-kuen , where in 1992 he founded the piano arts committee .

In 1997 he founded the Stanislav Bunin Enterprise organization , which attaches particular importance to supporting destitute children with musical talent, including with the procurement of instruments.

Bunin has recorded for numerous labels, v. a. Melodija, EMI and Deutsche Grammophon . In addition to recordings by Bach and Schumann, he is particularly interested in the works of Frédéric Chopin .

He continues to give concerts all over the world, including with the Berlin Philharmonic .
