Star Capital Partners is a British private equity investor based in London . According to its own information, the company manages assets of more than one billion euros.
Holdings
The current investments of the financial investor, founded in 2000, mainly focus on the areas of telecommunications , health, transport and waste management. In general, the British are on the lookout for companies with an enterprise value of 100 million euros or more. Star Capital holds u. a. Shares in the Oxford Aviation Academy flight school and in the Eversholt train company , which emerged from the privatization of the railways in Great Britain.
Participations in Germany
In Germany, Star Capital has held the Glückauf Sondershausen Development and Security Company ( GSES ) since December 2005 , which mainly operates landfills for industrial waste.
In August 2010, Star Capital took over the fifth largest cable network operator in Germany, the Pepcom group based in Munich.
In February 2012 the company took over the civilian activities of the Hamburg shipyard Blohm + Voss from ThyssenKrupp . This stake in the shipyard was abandoned in September 2016 after 3 parts of the company had already been individually sold by B + V.
Past investments include Abellio , a rail and bus company and a former subsidiary of the Essen municipal utilities and transport company, around 75 percent of which was bought in 2005. By the time it was resold in 2008, Star Capital said it had managed to increase the company's revenues from EUR 20 million to EUR 100 million.
In addition, from March 2008 Star Capital held a 100 percent stake in the Düsseldorf nursing home operator Alloheim ; these were sold on to the US financial investor Carlyle in August 2013 . At Star Capital's entry, the operator's portfolio included 13 old people's and nursing homes; Through various add-on acquisitions, Alloheim currently manages 49 facilities.
