Star Wreck

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Star Wreck is a series of Finnish science fiction parodies devised by Samuli Torssonen , which are characterized by numerous allusions and sometimes bizarre humor. The first film, simply called Star Wreck , was a simple computer animation in the style of the computer game Star Control . The later episodes are partly 3D computer animations, also with animated cartoon characters; the last films are shot with real actors and contain complex CGI animations. All films are shot in Finnish and have English subtitles.

As the name suggests, the television series Raumschiff Enterprise (English: Star Trek ) and the series spin-offs are parodied. Star Wreck shows the adventures of the spaceship "CPP Potkustart" (in English: CPP Kickstart) and its crew under the command of Captain James B. Pirk (a parody of James T. Kirk ). Other crew members include Mr. Fukov ( homophone to Fuck off , in the original: Chekov), Mr. Spook (Mr. Spock), Mr. Dwarf (Worf), chief engineer Shitty (Scotty) and Mr. Info (Data).

The series so far consists of the following films:

  • Star Wreck (1992)
  • Star Wreck II: The Old Shit (1994)
  • Star Wreck III: Wrath of the Romuclans (1995)
  • Star Wreck IV: The Kilpailu (1996)
  • Star Wreck V: Lost Contact (1997)
  • Star Wreck 4½: Weak Performance (2000)
  • Star Wreck: In the Pirkinning (2005)
  • Star Wreck 2π: Full Twist, now! (2012)
