Stasys Vaitekūnas
Stasys Vaitekūnas (born March 9, 1941 in Reibiniai , Šiauliai District , now Joniškis Rajongemeinde ) is a Lithuanian geographer, professor of Klaipėdos universitetas , former politician .
Life
After graduating from high school from 1948 to 1959 at the Skaistgiris Middle School at Joniškis , he worked from 1959 to 1960 as head of the Skaistgiris library. From 1960 to 1965 graduated from the study of geography at the Vilniaus pedagoginis institutas and in 1987 received his doctorate in Leningrad . From 1968 to 1986 he taught at the Vilniaus universitetas and from 1986 to 1993 head of the chair, from 1987 professor. From 1993 to 2002 he was rector of the Klaipėdos universitetas , headed the chair of social geography . From 1995 to 1996 he was a member of the Klaipėda City Council .
