New York State Fair

The State Fairs are annual events hosted by most of the US states . Originally they were almost purely agricultural shows, but developed more and more into large folk festivals or fairs . Agricultural products have been exhibited at State Fairs since the mid- 19th century and competed against each other. Today the festivals are mostly determined by rides and competitions, which are often only marginally connected to agriculture. Some of the State Fairs reach visitor numbers of over one million people.
