history

On February 6, 2002, the traffic around the former national stadium had to be realigned for the construction of the station. To make the station easier to build, Stadium Boulevard has been closed from Stadium Drive to Stadium Walk .

Before the station opened, it was tentatively called "Boulevard" after the nearby street, Stadium Boulevard . The current name “Stadium” was later chosen to reflect the upcoming flagship development in the region, the new national stadium.

architecture

This station was designed by WOHA Architects and in 2010 was awarded the President's design prize as “Design of the Year”.
