Stavros Kromidas (born November 21, 1954 in Thessaloniki ) is a Greek chemist and author of standard works on high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) and validation .

Life

Kromidas grew up in Thessaloniki and attended the German School of Thessaloniki there . He then studied chemistry and biology in Saarbrücken at the Saarland University , where he received his doctorate in 1983 on “Development of new chiral stationary phases for HPLC” with Heinz Engelhardt and Istvan Hálasz . In 1977 he married Gertraud Kromidas (née Lenk). The marriage had four children. In 1989 he founded NOVIA GmbH, which he managed until it was sold in 2001. Since then he has worked as a lecturer, management consultant and author.
