Stefan August Lütgenau

Stefan August Lütgenau (born May 4, 1964 in Wilhelmshaven ) is a German historian .

Life

He studied history and Slavic studies in Marburg and history and political science at the University of Vienna and received a Mag. Phil. at the University of Vienna in 2006. 1988–2005 he was a research assistant at the Bruno Kreisky Archive Foundation. Since 2005 he has been a self-employed historian residing in Austria .

The focus of work is on Austrian and international contemporary and contemporary history, with a focus on Nazi history, Holocaust Era assets and the history of restitution and the history of diplomacy.

Since 1989 Stefan August Lütgenau has been the honorary program coordinator of the Bruno Kreisky Foundation for Services to Human Rights . He is active in the areas of national and international human rights protection, human rights education and lobbying, national and international human rights networks. Since 2002 he has been convener of the Working Group on Palestine, Israel & Palestinians of the Euromediterranean Human Rights Network, EMHRN, field operations in the Middle East, Sahara, Latin America.

Since 2002 he has been in charge of project management and scientific advice within the framework of Austrian development cooperation in cooperation with VIDC and GEZA GmbH, as the successor to the North-South Institute, Vienna.
