Stefan Baierlein

Stefan Baierlein is a former German basketball player .

Life

Baierlein played on the inside position for USC Bayreuth in the basketball league and contributed in the 1982/83 game year to reaching the best 16 teams in the European club competition Korac Cup , which at that time meant the biggest European Cup success of a German team at that time. For the 1983/84 season he moved to FC Bamberg in the 2nd basketball league and rose with the team in the top German division. Behind Kennith Sweet and Mike Boyle , he was in the promotion game year with 335 points third-best basket scorer of Bamberg. In the 1984/85 season he continued to play for Bamberg, now in the Bundesliga, and was also appointed to the German national team. However, Baierlein fell out for several months during the playing year due to a bone splinter. Shortly before the start of the 1985/86 season, Baierlein called "Larry", who was considered one of the greatest German talents in his playing position at the time, had to end his basketball career due to injury.
