Stefan E. Buchner (born January 18, 1960 in Stuttgart ) is a German industrial engineer and a member of the divisional board of Daimler Trucks .

Life

Stefan Buchner is a member of the Board of Management at Daimler Trucks and heads the Mercedes-Benz Truck division. After finishing school in Ludwigsburg, he completed an apprenticeship as a communications equipment mechanic at the Deutsche Bundesbahn . The acquisition of the technical college entrance qualification followed a study in industrial engineering at the University of Esslingen .

In 1986 Stefan Buchner began his professional career as a central buyer in the central junior research group of what was then Daimler-Benz AG. He then took on various positions in the area of ​​purchasing non-production materials and the like. a. as team and department head. In 1995 he became the project manager of the E-Class purchasing department and one year later he took over the management of the interior purchasing department. In 1998 he was responsible for the strategic planning and controlling purchasing department at what was then DaimlerChrysler AG. From 1999 to 2000, Stefan Buchner was head of the department for interiors / exteriors, complete vehicles, and electrics / electronics, chassis and complete vehicles, each for one year. He then took over the management of the Mercedes-Benz Strategic Planning division and the “Executive Automotive Committee” before moving to Mitsubishi Motors Corporation in Japan for two years as Head of Global Procurement & Supply (Vice President). When he returned to Germany, he became Head of Purchasing at Daimler Trucks and Daimler Buses (Vice President). From 2010 he was also responsible for the Global Powertrain division (global assembly production) and production planning.

Stefan Buchner has been Head of Mercedes-Benz Trucks since January 2013.
