Jacques Maziol
Jacques Maziol (born January 13, 1918 in Aurillac , Cantal department ; † June 28, 1990 in Mourjou , Cantal department) was a French politician of the Union pour la Nouvelle République (UNR), who between 1958 and 1962 was an intermittent member of the National Assembly as well from 1962 to 1966 was Minister of Construction.
Life
Maziol was after a study of the law as a lawyer involved and among others from 1938 to 1940 and again from 1946 to 1962 at the Court of Appeal (Cour d'Appel) of Toulouse admitted.
After the founding of the Rassemblement du peuple français (RPF) by Charles de Gaulle , he became a member of the National Council of this Gaullist party in 1947 and belonged to it until 1952. At the same time he was president of the RPF in the Haute-Garonne department and between 1956 and 1958 he was a member of the central committee of the Républicains sociaux (RS).
After the establishment of the Fifth Republic , Maziol was elected a member of the National Assembly for the first time as a candidate for the Union pour la Nouvelle République (UNR) in the third constituency of the Haute-Garonne department.
On April 16, 1962 Maziol was appointed by Prime Minister Georges Pompidou as Minister of Construction (Ministre de la Construction) in his first cabinet . He then resigned from the National Assembly on May 15, 1962. On November 25, 1962, he was again elected as a member of the National Assembly as a candidate for the UNR Union Démocratique du Travail (UDT) in the third constituency of the Haute-Garonne department.
From November 28, 1962 to January 8, 1966, he also held the office of Minister of Construction in the second Pompidou cabinet . After his renewed appointment to the government, he resigned his seat in the National Assembly on January 6, 1963. Unlike his predecessors, as Minister of Construction, he focused less on promoting social housing in high-rise buildings (Grands Ensembles) and more on supporting the construction of single-family houses (Salon de maison individuelle) .
After retiring from the government Maziol 1966 successor to Jean Béliard as general manager of the radio station Radio Monte Carlo (RMC). He held this position until he was replaced by Henri Dolbois in 1973. In this position, he was one of the most important employees of César-Charles Solamito, who was President of RMC between 1954 and 1995.
In 1974 Maziol became President of the Development Company of Corbier SAC (Société d'aménagement du Corbier) and President of the Societé Gedri. In 1982 he became a member of the Central Committee of the Rassemblement pour la République (RPR) and a member of the General Council of the Haute-Garonne Department as well as the Elected member of Toulouse City Council.
