Stefan Eicker

Stefan Eicker (* 1960 ) is a German business informatics specialist and professor for business informatics and software technology at the University of Duisburg-Essen .

Career

Eicker studied computer science at the University of Dortmund and economics at the distance university in Hagen . From 1985 to 1990 he was a research assistant at the chair for business informatics in the department of economics and social sciences at the University of Dortmund. This was followed by a position as managing director and academic (senior) councilor of the Institute for Information Systems at the Westphalian Wilhelms University in Münster (1990–1995). During this period he completed his doctorate on The IV Dictionary as a Tool for Managing Company Metadata (1992). In 1995/96 he took over the provisional management of the chair for business informatics at the University of Münster and in 1996/97 he represented the chair for business informatics, in particular corporate communication systems at the University of Essen . 1997 Eicker qualified as Dr. rer. pole. habil. at the European University Viadrina in Frankfurt (Oder) . In November 1997 he was appointed professor for business informatics, in particular corporate communication systems, at the University of Essen. From October 2003 to July 2004 he was a lecturer at the Technical University of Clausthal . In 2004 Eicker was appointed professor for business informatics and software technology at the University of Duisburg-Essen.

Eicker is head of the special interest group for software product management of the Gesellschaft für Informatik (GI) and co-founder of the international conference on business informatics . His main areas of work are:
