Stefan Huber (born June 14, 1966 in Zurich ) is a former Swiss football player .
Stefan Huber learned his trade at FC Unterstrass in Zurich. His career then began at the Grasshopper Club Zurich in 1984. Because of his very quick, reflexive reactions, he was soon known by his comrades and fans as the "Panther".
In 1988 he moved to Lausanne-Sports , for which he played for five years. In 1993 he signed with the then National League A promoted FC Basel , for which he played for six years. In 1999, FC Basel exchanged Huber at Grasshopper for their former goalkeeper Pascal Zuberbühler . Huber played for the Grasshoppers until 2002 and then became goalkeeping coach there. He held this position until 2007.
Stefan Huber also played 16 times for the Swiss national football team between 1991 and 1999 .
