Stefan Jorda

Stefan Jorda (* 1963 ) is a German physicist and science journalist.

Jorda studied physics in Darmstadt and Rio de Janeiro and obtained her doctorate in theoretical solid-state physics in 1992 with U. Rößler in Regensburg (excitons and exciton polaritons in quantum wells).

From 1999 to 2015, Jorda was editor-in-chief of the Physik Journal (until 2002 Physikalische Blätter), the in-house journal of the German Physical Society. Before that he was editor of the magazine for three years. He then became managing director of the Wilhelm and Else Heraeus Foundation .

In 2015 he received the medal for scientific journalism from the German Physical Society (DPG).
