Stefan Körner (politician, 1977)

Stefan Körner (* 1977 in Langenhagen ) is a German politician ( Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen ). From 2015 to 2018 he was state chairman of the Greens in Lower Saxony .

Life

Grains laid in 1996 in Lehrte his Abitur from. Following his community service , he studied social sciences , but finished his studies without a degree.

In 2005 he became a member of the Greens in Lower Saxony. From March 2014 to 2015 he was chairman of the green regional association of Hanover.

At the state party conference in Stade 2015, he was the only candidate to succeed the previous state chairman Jan Haude after he had renounced another term of office. Of the 165 delegates, Körner was elected as the new state chairman with a total of 119 votes in favor and 46 abstentions. At the time of his candidacy, he was working in the constituency office of MEP Rebecca Harms in Hanover, but gave up this position in the course of his successful election. For the same reason he also gave up his office as chairman of the Hanover regional association.
