Stefan Niemeyer

Stefan Niemeyer (born September 7, 1960 ) is a German entrepreneur and basketball official.

Life

Niemeyer went to school in Vechta and passed the Abitur at the St. Thomas College .

In 1988, while still a student, Niemeyer took over the management of the feed manufacturer Miavit GmbH from his father, the company's founder, Hans W. Niemeyer. As early as 1987 he had received 40 percent of Miavit's share capital from his father.

In 1989, Niemeyer completed his business studies in Osnabrück , the subject of his diploma thesis was "Development of a PC program for invoicing for a medium-sized company in the animal feed industry with special consideration of management information".

In 2013 he was named Entrepreneur of the Year for the Oldenburger Münsterland .

Niemeyer, who played basketball at DJK Füchtel as a student in the late 1970s and then at SC Rasta Vechta (which he joined in 1983), has been managing director of Rasta Vechta Sport-Marketing GmbH, the operator of the professional team of SC Rasta Vechta, since it was founded in 2010 , as well as first chairman of SC Rasta Vechta eV since 1991. Before that, he had been second chairman since 1987. In 1993 his company, Miavit GmbH, became a sponsor of SC Rasta. Under Niemeyer's direction, Rasta's men's team changed from an amateur to a professional team, which in 2013 was promoted to the basketball Bundesliga for the first time .
