Stefano Lucchini (born October 2, 1980 in Codogno , Italy ) is a former Italian football player .

Lucchini played for the Italian Serie A club AC Cesena from 2014 to 2016 . Before that he played for Atalanta Bergamo , Sampdoria Genoa , FC Empoli , Ternana Calcio and the US Cremonese . In August 2010 he was appointed to the Italian national team by Cesare Prandelli , but he was not used. His position is defender.

Life

Stefano Lucchini was born in Codogno in the province of Lodi .

Career

He grew up in the youth team of the US Cremonese and became a regular with 19 in the first team that played in Serie C1 , the third highest Italian class. In the summer of 2000 he moved to Ternana Calcio in Serie B and there, too, he became a regular player and during this time even called up for the U-21 selection of Italy . After his second season at Ternana, the defender moved to FC Empoli , with whom he made his Serie A debut in 2002 . Lucchini remained in the team after Empoli was relegated to Serie B, which rose again the following year.

National team

In the U-21 , Lucchini was among other things in the squad at the European Championships in 2002 .

On August 6, 2010 Cesare Prandelli called him to the national team for the August 10 game against Ivory Coast, where he was not used.
