Steffen Gebhardt (born July 22, 1981 in Neuss ) is a German modern pentathlete .

As a sports soldier, Steffen Gebhardt is a staff sergeant in the Bundeswehr and starts for the DJK SSG Bensheim . In 2004 he took part in the Olympic Games in Athens for the first time and after a good start he finished 27th. 2007 was a successful year, which brought fourth place in the individual at the World Championships in Berlin and the gold medal with Eric Walther and Sebastian Dietz in the team. Gebhardt benefited from his achievements in the technical disciplines shooting (1168 points) and fencing (976). He lost little ground in swimming (1264) and riding (1144). In third place, he went into the final 3000-meter cross-country run. Here, however, he could not hold this position and slipped out of the medal ranks with 5520 points in the end. In 2008 Gebhardt was able to achieve 14th place at the World Championships in Budapest , the team came in seventh. Due to his placement in the world rankings, he still qualified for the Olympic Games in Beijing , where he reached fifth place. At the 2012 Olympic Games in London , he finished fifth again.
