Stefan Gebhardt (born March 5, 1974 in Wippra , Hettstedt district ) is a German politician ( Die Linke ).

Life and work

Gebhardt attended the Polytechnic Oberschule and from 1990 to 1992 the Markt Hettstedt high school . This was followed by a three-year training as a nurse at the Aschersleben district hospital , which he completed in 1996. He then worked in this profession until 1998 in the same hospital.

In addition to his parliamentary work, he is a member of the People's Solidarity Mansfelder Land, the Theater Zweckverband and the association “Freunde des Theaters” e. V.

Politics / party

Gebhardt joined the PDS in 1991 . Within the youth organization of his party , he took over the post from 1994 to 2004 as spokesman for the left wing youth “Die ROTfüchse” Hettstedt. In the PDS he was a member of the PDS district board of Mansfelder Land from 1994 to 1998 . From 1999 to 2005 he was a local politician for the party in the city council of Hettstedt. Since 2007 he has been a member of the Mansfeld-Südharz district council.

On June 29, 2019, Gebhardt was elected as the state chairman of the Left Saxony-Anhalt with 69.5 percent of the votes .

MP

Gebhardt was elected to the state parliament of Saxony-Anhalt via the state list in the course of the state elections in 1998 . In April 2005 Gebhardt gave up his mandate in the course of a public prosecutor's investigation, and since the state elections in 2006 he has been a member of the state parliament again.

He sits for his parliamentary group in the Committee on Federal and European Affairs and the Media and in the Committee on Education and Culture. He is also a member of the MDR Broadcasting Council (television committee and telemedia committee) and the ARD program advisory board.
