Ates Gurpinar
Ates Gürpinar (born September 25, 1984 in Darmstadt ) is a German politician ( Die Linke ). He is the spokesman for the state association Die Linke Bayern (together with Eva Bulling-Schröter ).
Life and work
Ates Gürpinar attended the Edith Stein School in Darmstadt until he graduated from high school in 2003. He then studied theater and media studies , modern German literary history and philosophy as well as ethics of text cultures at the Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg , where he later also worked. He has a teaching position at the Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences .
Party and politics
Gürpinar has been a member of Die Linke since 2010. In 2012 he became press spokesman and from 2014 to 2016 country manager of the Bavarian regional association. Later, in 2016, he was elected country spokesman. Together with Eva Bulling-Schröter, he was the top candidate for Die Linke Bayern for the Bavarian state elections in 2018 .
