Eva Maria Bulling-Schröter , b. Bulling (born February 22, 1956 in Ingolstadt ) is a German politician ( Die Linke ). From 1994 to 2002 and from 2005 to 2017 she was a member of the German Bundestag . From 2007 to 2016 and since 2018 she has also been the state chairman of the Left in Bavaria . She was one of the top candidates for Die Linke Bayern in the state elections in 2018 , together with Ates Gürpinar .

Life and work

Eva Bulling-Schröter attended grammar school until 1974 and then worked in various metal processing companies. She then completed 1979 to 1981 training as Betriebsschlosserin and then worked in a metal factory. Later she was a full-time employee of IG Bau-Steine-Erden and in 1985 switched to the Ingolstadt-based spinning machine manufacturer Rieter as an assembly fitter , where she also worked as a voluntary works councilor.

She is a member of the advisory board of the company-critical network Coordination against BAYER dangers . For several years she has been writing articles for the organ of the German Freethinkers Association .

Political party

From 1974 she was a member of the DKP , in 1990 she joined the PDS (since 2007 Die Linke ). From 2000 to 2010 and from 2012 to 2016 she was and since 2018 their Bavarian state spokeswoman Die Linke Bayern .

In March 2006 Bulling-Schröter was a founding member of the Anti-Capitalist Left (AKL).

Eva Bulling-Schröter belongs to the Ecological Platform within the party and was her party's environmental spokesperson.

In July 2007 she was set up by the Ingolstadt district association as a candidate for the office of Lord Mayor in Ingolstadt in the 2008 local elections ; she received 2.98% of the vote.

From 1994 to 2002 and from 2005 to 2017 she was a member of the German Bundestag . Here was Eva Bulling-Schröter environmental spokesperson and representative for Animal Protection of the PDS parliamentary group (1994-1998: group of the PDS) and the Left faction . In this role, she advocated a faster phase-out of nuclear power , the increased use of renewable energies and a use of natural resources based on the principle of sustainability .

From November 2009 to January 2014 she was Chair of the Committee on the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety . Between 2005 and 2009 she was its deputy chairwoman.

From February 2014 she was a full member of the Committee for Economic Affairs and Energy and a deputy member of the Committee for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety . She was a founding member of the parliamentary group Free Flowing Rivers and deputy chairwoman of the German-Romanian parliamentary group. In addition, she was a deputy member of the advisory board of the Federal Network Agency , deputy chairwoman of the parliamentary advisory board of the Federal Association of Renewable Energy and member of the board of trustees of the German Federal Environmental Foundation .

From February 2014 until the end of the legislative period, she acted as the energy and climate policy spokeswoman for her parliamentary group in the Bundestag.

Eva Bulling-Schröter has always entered the Bundestag via the Bavarian State List . Your constituency was Ingolstadt . She was the only “classic” worker in the 18th German Bundestag. She did not seek to run again for the 2017 federal election.
