Steffen König

Steffen König (born September 5, 1961 in Stuttgart ) is a German mathematician who deals with algebra.

König studied mathematics at the University of Stuttgart with a diploma in 1986, did two years of community service and received his doctorate in Stuttgart under Klaus Roggenkamp in 1988 ( tame and wild generalized backflow regulations and their foreigner riding quivers ). After that he was at the University of Bielefeld and Antwerp, among others. In 1993 he completed his habilitation in Stuttgart and was a Heisenberg fellow and private lecturer in Bielefeld from 1995 to 2000. In 2000 he became a professor at the University of Leicester , where he was a Leverhulme Research Fellow in 2004/5. In 2005 he became a professor at the University of Cologne and in 2010 in Stuttgart.

He deals with algebras and their representations and category theory.

In 1995 he received the Heinz Maier Leibnitz Prize .
