Steffen Tippach

Steffen Tippach (born November 18, 1967 in Leipzig ) is a German politician ( Die Linke ). He was a member of the German Bundestag from 1994 to 1998 and was previously a member of the Saxon State Parliament from 1990 to 1994 and then from 1999 to 2004 .

Life

After attending a polytechnic high school, Steffen Tippach learned the profession of skilled worker for rail transport technology . From 1986 to 1989 he did his military service in the National People's Army (NVA). He then worked as assistant to the dispatcher management Leipzig of the Deutsche Reichsbahn until November 1990 . After his terms in office in the Landtag and Bundestag, Tippach took over the position of advisor for European issues at the Leipziger Verkehrsbetriebe (LVB) and the Leipzig Municipal Waterworks (KWL) in Brussels. He also worked there as a consultant in the General Secretariat of the European Central Association of the Public Economy (CEEP). Since December 2007 he has been Head of the Strategy and Investment Management division at Leipziger Verkehrsbetriebe .

Steffen Tippach joined the SED in 1987 (from 1990 PDS ). In the first free elections to the Saxon state parliament in 1990, Tippach was elected as a member of the MJV “Young Left ” (merged in 1992 to Young Democrats / Young Left ) for the list association Left List-PDS. The mandate lasted until 1994. In June 1994 he became a member of the Leipzig City Council in the Leipzig-Süd constituency.

From November 10, 1994 to October 26, 1998 he was a member of the German Bundestag for one electoral term . There he was a member of the Foreign Affairs Committee . He was elected to the Bundestag via the state list of the PDS in Saxony .

In the third electoral period (1999 to 2004) Tippach was again a member of the Saxon state parliament for the PDS.
