Steinberg and Havlicek
Steinberg and Havlicek are a Viennese song duo of the new Viennese folk music.
The duo was founded in 1988 by the Styrian singer Traude Holzer and the Viennese double guitarist and singer Peter Havlicek . After getting to know each other at the jazz department of the Musikhochschule Graz , the two soon discovered their shared passion for Viennese music and began to include more and more Viennese ganzos and songs in their jazz program. In the following years and after four CDs of Viennese music that were published together, jazzy sounds can be found in the program as well as poetry and prose settings and thus contribute to the sound of the 2 voices including the double guitar.
Steinberg and Havlicek were repeatedly supported by Karl Hodina , Roland Sulzer, Walther Soyka or Helmut Stippich on the harmonica, as well as the Neue Wiener Concert Schrammeln .
