The Ardcroney Stone Chest is west of the village of Ardcrony in County Tipperary , Ireland . Ardcroney is an Irish stone box from the type Linkardstown .

The box excavated by Wallace in 1977 is located in the center of a partially disturbed Rundkairn of about 20.0 m in diameter, which originally had a diameter of about 33.0 m. The polygonal box measures 1.75 m × 1.4 m and is 0.7 m high. Inwardly inclined panels form the sloping long sides. Two upright stones form the narrow ends and a large slab the roof.

Wallace found the skeletons of two men and a decorated ceramic vessel on the paved floor of the chamber. The dating of the bones indicated an age of about 2725 BC. Chr.

A good example of a gorget also comes from Ardcrony.
